PLANT CITY, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation is constructing a new I-4 Truck Parking Facility along with roadway and pedestrian improvements to County Line Road over Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County.
Construction began on September 20, 2025, with an estimated completion in fall 2026. The project has a construction cost of $29.4 million. The contractor is Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC.
The new facility is being built on a 49-acre FDOT-owned site and will provide 160 truck parking spaces.

The project includes infrastructure improvements for trucks accessing the facility, as well as for traffic entering and exiting I-4 at County Line Road.
Improvements consist of:
- Replacing the traffic signal and providing dual right and left turn lanes from the eastbound I-4 exit ramp onto County Line Road.

- Reducing the radii and adding truck aprons to accommodate trucks.
- Modifying traffic signals and reconfiguring travel lanes along County Line Road to reduce truck delays and improve mobility.
- Installing new signage and pavement markings, highway lighting, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
