Traffic Alert: I-4 Eastbound Ramp Alignment to Open Near SR 33 on Tuesday

LAKELAND, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is advising motorists of an upcoming traffic pattern change at the I-4/S.R. 33 interchange.

Beginning Tuesday morning, April 14, crews will open the newly constructed Ramp B (I-4 eastbound off-ramp to State Road 33). The ramp’s entry point will shift approximately 3,000 feet west of its current location.

Motorists traveling eastbound on I-4 and exiting to S.R. 33 will use the new ramp alignment starting that morning. Drivers are urged to remain alert, follow all posted signage, and exercise caution in the new traffic pattern.

The change is part of the ongoing I-4 at S.R. 33 interchange improvement project, which aims to enhance safety, improve traffic flow, and support long-term mobility in the area.

Project schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions. For more information, construction alerts, and improvement plans, visit: https://www.swflroads.com/project/430185-2
