BARTOW, FL — Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced the deployment of a team from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) to Santa Rosa County to assist with recovery efforts following Hurricane Isaias, which made landfall along the Florida Panhandle Friday night.

The team departed from the agency’s Special Operations Division at noon Saturday, October 10, bringing personnel, vehicles, and equipment to support emergency response and recovery operations in the affected region.

A total of 46 deputies were deployed as part of the response, accompanied by personnel from Polk County Fire Rescue and other county departments.

The deployment includes specialized resources such as mobile command centers, communications equipment, bunk trailers, fleet management support, and a portable kitchen to help sustain operations in the hurricane-impacted area.

The assistance comes as communities across the Florida Panhandle continue cleanup and recovery efforts following the Category 2 hurricane, which brought damaging winds, widespread power outages, and significant debris.
