Miami, FL — In a story reported by WTVJ. A Miami nurse practitioner was arrested Friday after police say she removed her mother’s breathing tube in an ICU room, leading to her mother’s death. Juansette Sabrina Green, 54, now faces a charge of aggravated manslaughter of an elderly or disabled adult.

According to an arrest report, Green’s mother was admitted to Northshore Medical Center on May 5 with shortness of breath. Her condition deteriorated, requiring intubation in the intensive care unit.
On May 16, Green called her children to the hospital, informing them their grandmother was not doing well. Authorities say Green, surrounded by family in the ICU, announced, “I’m pulling out,” and disconnected her mother’s breathing tube. An alarm alerted medical staff, who rushed in to provide aid. Green reportedly told them to stop, saying she wanted her mother “to go in peace.” Her mother was pronounced dead shortly after.

Green, a licensed nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience, had left the hospital before detectives arrived. She was later apprehended at her home.
A judge ordered Green held without bond during a weekend court hearing. Nothing further at this time.
