KISSIMMEE, FL — Scary details surrounding an attempted sexual battery inside a Kissimmee Dollar Tree reveal how a 69-year-old man opened a package of knives from a store shelf and followed a woman through the store, according to the arrest affidavit. The man then threatened the woman with a knife, robbed her, and attempted to sexually batter her. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said the 33-year-old victim managed to distract the suspect and escape before deputies located and arrested him.
The incident occurred on October 12, 2026, shortly before 3 p.m., at the Dollar Tree located at 3201 Rolling Oaks Boulevard.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Harrison John Dolo, 69, approached the woman with a knife and forced her into the store’s bathroom.
Once inside, investigators say Dolo closed the bathroom door and demanded the woman’s money, taking $120 from her. He then allegedly removed his clothing and began removing the victim’s clothing in an attempt to sexually batter her.
According to the arrest affidavit, Dolo attempted to penetrate the victim from behind but was unsuccessful.
Despite the terrifying circumstances, the woman remained calm and managed to distract Dolo by telling him she needed to retrieve Vaseline. While he was distracted, she escaped the bathroom and sought help.
Dolo fled the store but was later located by responding deputies near 8136 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Investigators say the victim positively identified him during a show-up identification.
Deputies also reported finding a glass pipe in Dolo’s possession that tested presumptively positive for fentanyl.
Dolo was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail on charges including robbery with a weapon, false imprisonment, attempted armed sexual battery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and petit theft.
The Sheriff’s Office credited the victim for remaining calm under dangerous circumstances and successfully distracting the suspect long enough to escape.
Authorities are reminding residents to remain aware of their surroundings.
