AVON PARK, FL – A 34-year-old Avon Park man has been charged with attempted murder in connection to an alleged stabbing outside an Avon Park bar on May 14, 2026.
According to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, David J. Lozano was arrested on May 19 and booked into the Highlands County Jailm following an investigation into the incident outside Room 111, located at 901 W. Main St.
Detectives said they received conflicting statements regarding what allegedly led up to the stabbing. Investigators later determined that Lozano and the 24-year-old victim had allegedly been involved in an ongoing dispute and that the stabbing was not committed in self-defense, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation remains ongoing.
