Auburndale Man Crashes on Polk Parkway While Applying Deodorant: FHP
WINTER HAVEN, FL — Talk about needing a pit stop. An Auburndale man crashed on the Polk Parkway this morning while applying deodorant behind the wheel, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7 a.m. near mile marker 14 on the Polk Parkway in Winter Haven. FHP said the 22-year-old man was driving a GMC Sierra westbound when he entered a curve while simultaneously applying deodorant. The truck struck a crash attenuator before coming to rest on top of a concrete barrier wall.
No injuries were reported. FHP later confirmed that a stick of deodorant, rather than spray deodorant, was found at the crash scene. It’s unclear whether the smell played any role in the crash. Nothing further.
