HAINES CITY, FL — New college classes are coming to Polk State College’s Haines City-Davenport Campus beginning January 6, 2027, giving students in Northeast Polk County additional opportunities to pursue higher education closer to home.

According to Polk State College, priority registration for the Spring 2027 Semester opens November 2, followed by general registration on November 9.

The new 75,000-square-foot campus will initially offer nine in-person and hybrid general education course sections, including College Composition I and II, College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Survey of Earth Science, and U.S. History.

Additional general education courses are expected to become available during the Summer 2027 Semester, with the goal of eventually allowing students to complete all requirements for an Associate in Arts degree at the new campus by Fall 2027.

The $51 million facility is located adjacent to AdventHealth Heart of Florida and will feature classrooms, laboratories, offices, and collaborative learning spaces. It will also serve as Central Florida’s first public higher education interdisciplinary simulation hospital.

According to the college, approximately 80,000 residents live within a 10-mile radius of the new campus, many of whom currently travel at least 30 miles roundtrip to attend classes at another Polk State location.

Students interested in registering for Spring 2027 courses can search for available classes through the Polk Portal using the course numbers provided by the college.
