DAVENPORT, FL — A head-on collision just before midnight Saturday night on US-17/92 left two people deceased and two others seriously injured.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. near West James Street. A Honda sedan driven by a 41-year-old Davenport man was traveling southbound when it entered the northbound lane and collided nearly head-on with a Nissan sedan, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Nissan was driven by a 37-year-old Kissimmee man and carried two passengers, a 34-year-old Winter Haven man and a 45-year-old Kissimmee woman. All four people suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals.
The 37-year-old Kissimmee man and the 45-year-old Kissimmee woman later died from their injuries. The Davenport man and Winter Haven man suffered serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
