Bartow, FL. (July 10, 2026) – A small section of Sheffield Road west of the Spirit Lake Road intersection in Winter Haven will close beginning at 9 p.m. Monday, July 13, for roadway reconstruction.
The closure will affect Sheffield Road immediately west of the Spirit Lake Road intersection. The road is expected to reopen by 1 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30.
Drivers will be detoured to the newly realigned section of Old Bartow Eagle Lake Road and then to Spirit Lake Road.
Residents should plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays.
The closure is part of the Polk County Roads and Drainage Division’s ongoing Spirit Lake Road and Sheffield Road Community Investment Program roundabout project.
