TALLAHASSEE, FL — Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Polk State College Executive Vice President Kevin O’Farrell to Florida’s Commission for Independent Education. The appointment was announced Friday, Sept. 25.
O’Farrell serves as Executive Vice President of Workforce and Strategic Initiatives at Polk State College. He previously served as Senior Chancellor for Higher Education and Workforce Development with the Florida Department of Education.
O’Farrell holds a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and organizational communications from the University of Toccoa Falls, master’s degrees in political science and public administration, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Florida.
His appointment to the Commission for Independent Education is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
