KISSIMMEE, FL — A deadly stabbing at the Kissimmee Days Inn that left a man dead in July has now led to the arrest of a second suspect on a first-degree murder charge.
The Kissimmee Police Department announced the arrest of Jihad Basil Scott, 32, in connection with the July 11 homicide at the Days Inn, located at 4125 W. Vine Street.
Scott was arrested by the Morrisville Police Department in Morrisville, North Carolina, on an outstanding warrant charging him with first-degree murder. He was later extradited to the Osceola County Jail.
Keith Swinton Jr., 26, was previously arrested in July in connection with the same case and also faces a first-degree murder charge.
The homicide occurred at approximately 12:49 a.m. on July 11. Kissimmee Police officers responding to the motel found an adult male suffering from stab wounds. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
“This arrest is the result of the dedication and persistence of our detectives, who worked diligently to identify those responsible and move this case forward,” Kissimmee Police Chief Charles Broadway said.
Broadway also thanked the Morrisville Police Department for its assistance in locating and taking Scott into custody.
