City of Bartow Recognizes Worker for Outstanding Service

From the latest edition of the City of Bartow Week in Review, the weekly newsletter authored by Laurie Hayes, Director of Communications:

BARTOW, FL — The City of Bartow recognized Solid Waste Driver II Efrain Sanchez for his dedication and exemplary work in the Sanitation Division.

Sanchez, who joined Bartow’s Solid Waste team a year and a half ago after six years with the City of Lake Alfred, was recruited by Solid Waste Manager Michel Davis, who had previously supervised him. Davis cited Sanchez’s experience with grapple trucks and side-load garbage trucks as a key factor in his hiring.

“He is a hard worker, safe driver, rarely misses work, and is very helpful to residents,” Davis said.

Sanchez’s efforts have also been noted by residents. City Manager Mike Herr shared a letter from a local resident praising Sanchez’s service at Floral Lakes on South Floral Avenue. The letter described him as “polite, neat and efficient,” noting that his yard waste pickup left the area “as neat as if it had been raked by hand.”

Herr commended Sanchez publicly, stating that his dedication “reflects well on our organization” and positions him as a “role model for our City team.”

Sanchez expressed that he enjoys working in Bartow, highlighting the department’s leadership and access to quality equipment, calling it “a very enjoyable job experience.”
