Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck by Ford Ranger in Lakeland

LAKELAND, FL — A bicyclist has died following a crash on Harden Boulevard in Lakeland three days ago, according to the Lakeland Police Department.

The crash occurred around 8:42 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in the 1700 block of Harden Boulevard near Forest Park Street. Police said an orange Ford Ranger was traveling northbound as the 63-year-old Lakeland bicyclist was traveling eastbound across Harden Boulevard.

Investigators said the bicyclist crossed into the path of the Ford Ranger in the northbound inside lane and was struck. The bicyclist was transported to Lakeland Regional Health with critical injuries. Despite treatment, he died from his injuries on Sept. 13.

The Ford Ranger was driven by 75-year-old man from Mulberry. The Lakeland Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
