Tampa, FL – On August 7, 2025, at approximately 1:46 PM, a fatal collision occurred on Windermere Lake Drive west of US-301, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A tractor-trailer, driven by a 55-year-old man from Lake Wales, was traveling westbound behind an Infiniti G37, driven by a 24-year-old woman from Tampa. The Infiniti G37 slowed to turn into the Windermere Apartments complex. The tractor-trailer did not slow and collided with the rear of the Infiniti G37. After the impact, the tractor-trailer continued forward, striking a cinder block wall and then a tree.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to a local hospital, where he later died, likely due to a medical emergency, according to FHP. Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt. The investigation is ongoing.
