Over Two Dozen Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Construction Site Sweep

Wildwood, FL – May 13, 2025 Authorities detained more than two dozen undocumented immigrants during a major worksite enforcement action at construction sites in Wildwood, Florida today.

The operation, conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Tampa, the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle Department (FLHSMV), and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Miami, targeted individuals from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, including some previously deported. Wildwood is one of the nation’s fastest-growing communities.

ERO, part of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), is the federal authority responsible for domestic immigration enforcement, focusing on the arrest and removal of individuals who pose threats to public safety or violate immigration laws.

Supported by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the operation highlights ongoing efforts to curb illegal employment. The arrested individuals are in custody, with further details pending.
