Pasco County, FL – March 3, 2024 – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a deadly crash on SR 54 near Heron Cove Dr. in Land O’ Lakes left one person dead and another seriously injured Monday morning. Shortly before 8 a.m., an Infiniti G37 veered into the median while rounding a curve, overturned, and struck an eastbound Tesla Model 3 head-on, causing the Infiniti to catch fire. The Tesla driver, a 42-year-old man from Palm Harbor, died at the hospital, while the Infiniti driver remains hospitalized with serious injuries. The incident closed a busy stretch of SR 54 for hours. Nothing further at this time.
