Semi-Truck Transporting Concrete Overturns on Thornhill Road, Causes Diesel Spill

Winter Haven, FL – According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck transporting bags of concrete overturned near the intersection of Thornhill Rd and Donald Ln at approximately 2:00 PM today. The crash, which involved no other vehicles, has caused significant disruption in the area due to a diesel fuel leak from the truck.

Sheriff’s deputies and emergency response teams are on the scene managing the situation. The driver of the semi-truck refused medical assistance at the scene, and no injuries have been reported. Authorities are working to clean up the spilled diesel fuel, which may lead to road congestion in the area for several hours.

Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection of Thornhill Rd and Donald Ln and seek alternate routes until the cleanup is complete. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Nothing further at this time.
