25-Year-Old Woman Dies After Crash With Fuel Tanker

BROOKSVILLE, FL — Sad news coming out of Hernando County this morning after a 25-year-old Webster woman died from injuries suffered in a crash involving a tractor-trailer Saturday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on September 5, 2026, at the intersection of US-98 and Kettering Road. FHP said the woman was driving a Jeep Cherokee eastbound on US-98 while a tractor-trailer, operated by a 53-year-old St. Petersburg man, was traveling northbound on Kettering Road.

According to troopers, the tractor-trailer entered the intersection under a green traffic signal. The Jeep continued through a red traffic signal and collided with the tractor-trailer.

The 25-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital, where she later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Nothing further.
