Wrong-Way Crash on SR 33 Near Bakers Lane Leaves Orlando Man Dead, Three Seriously Injured

CLERMONT, FL — A 24-year-old Orlando man died and three others suffered serious injuries following a wrong-way crash on State Road 33 near Bakers Lane.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:20p, Sunday Morning (June 14, 2026) when a 2026 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of State Road 33. At the same time, a 2016 Dodge Journey was traveling southbound in the proper lane south of Bakers Lane.

Troopers said the Toyota was traveling directly into the path of the Dodge when the two vehicles collided head-on. The impact caused the Dodge Journey to become partially engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Toyota, a 24-year-old Orlando man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two passengers in the Toyota, a 25-year-old Orlando man and a 23-year-old Oviedo man, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Dodge, a 33-year-old Kissimmee man, also suffered serious injuries and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.

All occupants involved in the crash were reported to be wearing seat belts, according to investigators. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit.
