WINTER HAVEN, FL – April 29, 2026 — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday morning around 5:55 a.m.
According to the PCSO, the crash involved a 2019 Chevrolet pickup truck and a 2003 Honda motorcycle at the intersection of K-Ville Avenue and Taylor Road. Authorities said the pickup truck was traveling east on K-Ville Avenue when the 33-year-old male driver began making a left turn onto northbound Taylor Road. At the same time, the motorcycle was traveling west on K-Ville Avenue and struck the truck nearly head-on.
The 28-year-old male motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating fully with investigators.
Westbound lanes of Taylor Road in the area were shut down for approximately two and a half hours following the crash.
Investigators said neither speed nor impairment are suspected factors for either driver. The investigation remains ongoing.
