KISSIMMEE, FL — An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning at an Extended Stay Suites along West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 4:53 a.m. to 7735 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway after receiving reports of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they located 26-year-old Timothy James Meyer suffering from a gunshot wound. Meyer was transported to Osceola Regional Hospital in critical condition.
Investigators said 53-year-old Raul Perez, of Kissimmee, was arrested shortly after the shooting and initially charged with attempted murder. Perez was booked into the Osceola County Jail and held without bond.

Authorities later confirmed Meyer died at Osceola Regional Hospital at 10:07 p.m. Wednesday night as a result of his injuries.
Following Meyer’s death, detectives upgraded the charges against Perez to second-degree murder. Perez was served with the upgraded charge while in custody at the Osceola County Jail. Detectives said the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
