LAKELAND, FL — SPCA Florida is teaming up with Hill’s Pet Nutrition to offer $20 adoptions for eligible large dogs during the “Home Sweet Homecoming” campaign from Sept. 30 through Oct. 4.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition will cover the regular adoption fee for eligible dogs weighing 40 pounds or more, leaving adopters responsible for only a $20 processing fee.
The campaign aims to help larger shelter dogs, which often wait longer to find homes, while supporting families welcoming a new pet. Adopters will also receive a New Pet Parent Kit from Hill’s containing a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet, coupons and post-adoption information.
All available pets are fully vetted, vaccinated and microchipped.
“This is a great time to adopt one of Polk County’s deserving animals, and in return, receive what we all can use more of, unconditional love,” said Shelley Thayer, executive director of SPCA Florida.
SPCA Florida is a partner of Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program, which has helped more than 16 million cats and dogs find homes and provided more than $300 million in pet nutrition to partner shelters since 2002.
The campaign will take place at SPCA Florida, 5850 Brannen Road South in Lakeland. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
