Lakeland, FL – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, a 23 year old Winter Haven man driving a Ford Mustang veered off County Line Rd (south of Ralston Rd). The Mustang hit the bike of a 39 year old bicyclist, also from Winter Haven, along the shoulder of the road, then came back onto the road and hit a Mercedes SUV.
The bicyclist was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Mustang driver and the SUV driver sustained minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Nothing further at this time.
