Manatee County, FL. — On September 12, 2025, at 8:02 p.m., a 46-year-old male pedestrian from Bradenton was fatally struck by a vehicle on 15th Street East north of 49th Avenue East, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian was walking north in the northbound lane when the right front of a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, also traveling north, collided with him. The pedestrian came to rest in a ditch on the east side shoulder of 15th Street East.
The driver of the pickup truck, Arnulfo Carranza Dominguez, fled the scene. The vehicle was subsequently involved in a second crash on 9th Street East near 44th Avenue East, after which Dominguez fled on foot. Dominguez, a 38-year-old from Bradenton, was apprehended shortly afterward.
He was booked into the Manatee County Jail on charges including no driver’s license involving a death, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, DUI (second refusal), leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, DUI property damage, no driver’s license for the second crash, and violation of probation. Dominguez is an undocumented immigrant, according to FHP.
The pedestrian’s next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
