
POINCIANA, FL — Polk County Fire Rescue members were among four people transported to local hospitals Saturday following a three-vehicle crash involving a PCFR ambulance in Poinciana.
According to the PCFR, the crash occurred around 11:26 a.m. Sept. 12 at the intersection of Bayberry Street and Marigold Avenue. The ambulance was responding to a call with its emergency lights and sirens activated when it became involved in the crash.
Both PCFR members aboard the ambulance were transported by ground to local hospitals. One occupant from each of the two other vehicles was also transported, bringing the total number of patients to four.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. All traffic lanes have reopened, but motorists may experience backups in the area. The cause of the crash has not been released. The conditions of all parties involved are unknown at this time.
