Lake Wales, FL – On Friday, August 29, 2025, at approximately 10:58 p.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Egg Farm Road in Lake Wales.
A gray Hyundai 4-door sedan was traveling northbound on Scenic Highway when it failed to negotiate a right curve. The vehicle left the roadway, traveling straight off the west shoulder and approximately 20 yards into a wooded area. The vehicle struck a tree, rotated, and caught fire with the occupants inside.
The occupants, consisting of an adult male driver, an adult female passenger, and a young child passenger, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle and occupants were consumed by the fire.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the cause of the crash. No further details are available at this time.
