Lake County, FL – According to Florida Highway Patrol, on July 18, 2025, a collision occurred at the intersection of County Road 44A and County Road 439 involving two vehicles. A 2013 Freightliner semi tractor-trailer, traveling westbound on County Road 44A, was approaching the intersection.
A 2010 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on the same road, also approaching the intersection.
According to a witness, the Freightliner disregarded a red traffic signal and initiated a left turn, entering the direct path of the Dodge Ram. The maneuver resulted in the Freightliner striking the Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Freightliner was transported to AdventHealth Waterman Emergency Room with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram was transported to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP. Nothing further at this time.
