Suspected Serial Killer Faces Execution in Florida

Glen Rogers, a 62-year-old suspected serial killer, is set to be executed by lethal injection today at Florida State Prison near Starke for the 1995 murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34 year old mother of two.

Rogers met Cribbs at a Tampa bar before luring her to a motel room, where he stabbed her multiple times and left her body. Evidence linked Rogers to the crime, including his possession of Cribbs’ car, which he was driving when apprehended after a high-speed chase in Kentucky shortly after the killing.

Rogers also received a death sentence in California for the 1995 strangulation murder of Sandra Gallagher, a mother of three he met at a Van Nuys bar. Known as the “Casanova Killer” or “Cross Country Killer,” Rogers was suspected in several other slayings nationwide, often targeting women in their 30s with petite frames and red hair.

He once claimed to have killed around 70 people but later recanted. His brother Clay featured in a 2012 documentary, “My Brother the Serial Killer,” discussing Rogers’ crimes.

The U.S. Supreme Court denied Rogers’ final appeals Wednesday. His legal team argued that childhood abuse, now recognized under new Florida laws, warranted a life sentence, but courts rejected this. Florida’s lethal injection protocol uses a three-drug cocktail: a sedative, a paralytic, and a heart-stopping drug.

This would be Florida’s fifth execution in 2025, with 15 total U.S. executions this year, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.
