Breaking: Possible Drowning at Treasure Island Beach: Emergency Crews Find Unconscious, Non-Breathing Individual Pulled from Water

Possible Drowning on Treasure Island Beach

Treasure Island, FL – At approximately 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, a 911call was received reporting a possible drowning on the beach near the 120th Avenue beach access on Treasure Island Beach.

Bystanders were performing CPR on the individual at the time of the call. Treasure Island Fire Rescue, Treasure Island Police, Madeira Beach Fire Rescue, St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue, and Sunstar responded promptly to thescene. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found an unconscious, non-breathing individual who had been pulled from the water. Advanced Life Support measures were administered immediately, and responders worked to safely secure thepatient for transport.

After about 20 minutes of continued life-saving efforts, the individual was transported from the beach to an awaiting ambulance in the parking lot at 11260 Gulf Boulevard. The patient was then taken to Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Their condition is currently unknown.

While crews were on scene, a second medical emergency occurred nearby involving an individual who appeared unresponsive and was vomiting. That person was treated at the scene.
