Polk State Freshmen Dailey and McCray Named All-Citrus Conference Second Team

Polk State College men’s basketball players Eric Dailey and Isaiah McCray have been named to the All-Citrus Conference Second Team, as announced on Friday, March 6, 2026.

The freshman guards were recognized following the conclusion of the 2025-26 regular season. Polk State ended the year as the only FCSAA Division I program with two players ranked in the top 10 in the state for scoring.

Dailey, a 6-foot-3 guard from Winter Haven High School, led the Eagles and ranked eighth in the FCSAA with an average of 17.1 points per game. He reached or exceeded 20 points in nine games, including a career-high 31 points against IMG Academy on November 9. Dailey shot 42% from the field, 36% from three-point range, and 80% from the free-throw line. He also averaged 3.4 rebounds per game, while ranking second on the team in assists (3.0) and steals (1.4).

Head Coach Brandon Giles described Dailey as one of the most athletically gifted players he has coached, noting his room for growth, incredible potential, and promising future, with expectations of further individual accolades.

McCray, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, ranked 10th in the FCSAA in scoring at 15.9 points per game. He established himself as one of the top shooters in the conference, ranking fourth in both three-point percentage (.405) and free-throw percentage (.815). McCray led the FCSAA with 75 made three-pointers and ranked fifth in that category overall. He scored in double figures in each of his first 13 collegiate games, including a career-high 31 points against Florida State College at Jacksonville on January 10.

Giles highlighted McCray’s maturation after relocating to a new state and adjusting to college basketball, praising him as a great player and person with tremendous upside and an all-around game suited for higher levels.

This marks the first time since the 2019-20 season that Polk State has had multiple freshmen earn All-Conference honors. The selections bring the total All-Conference honorees under Giles’ nine-season tenure to 30.

Polk State finished the 2025-26 season with a 5-24 overall record.
