Polk County Sheriff’s Charities Sponsors Free Turkey Giveaway on November 22, 2025

Polk Sheriff’s Charities is sponsoring a free turkey giveaway on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at three locations in Polk County. The event is supported by The Freedom Tour, a volunteer organization based in Lake Wales that provides food to those in need.

Up to 1,200 frozen turkeys, each weighing 15 to 17 pounds, will be distributed. Turkeys will be given one per family and one per vehicle on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. No identification or pre-qualification is required.

Polk County deputies will distribute the turkeys at each site.

Distribution Locations and Times:

  • East Polk: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Church on the Hill, 1111 Scenic Hwy, Dundee. Vehicles enter the parking lot south of the church from Old Scenic Hwy, proceed around the back to the distribution point, and exit north onto Old Scenic Hwy toward Dundee.
  • Central Polk: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lake Region High School, 1995 Thunder Road, Eagle Lake. Vehicles enter onto Cameron Road from US 17 (which becomes Gilbert Street), proceed onto Thunder Road through the school parking lot to the distribution point, and exit onto Gilbert Street.
  • West Polk: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Lakes Church (also known as Church at the Mall), 1010 East Memorial Blvd, Lakeland. Vehicles enter the parking lot from the westbound lane of Memorial Boulevard at Ingraham Avenue, proceed to the rear parking lot for distribution, and exit westbound onto Memorial Boulevard or straight onto Ingraham Avenue.
