Polk County Schools Invites Community Members to Join Advisory Council

Polk County Public Schools is accepting nominations for its District Advisory Council (DAC), giving community members an opportunity to become more involved in the local school system and help support student success across the district.

According to PCPS, DAC members provide insight and feedback to the superintendent on a variety of topics, with a focus on the district’s strategic plan. Council members also serve as a connection between district administration, local schools and the community.

The district is seeking a diverse group of applicants to serve on the council, including community members, business partners, faith-based leaders, parents and School Advisory Council (SAC) representatives.

PCPS said DAC membership is limited and requires an annual commitment that includes participation in five meetings throughout the year. Applications for the District Advisory Council must be submitted by June 12, 2026.
