Hillsborough County, FL – On August 28, 2025, at approximately 12:30 AM, a fatal crash occurred on Interstate 75 near the 247 milepost in Sarasota County. A Kia Sportage, driven by a 25-year-old woman from Sarasota, was traveling southbound when it struck a 27-year-old woman from Riverview.
The pedestrian was near a disabled Nissan Altima, which was stopped on the outside shoulder of the highway. The Riverview woman walked into the roadway and entered the path of the Kia Sportage, resulting in a collision. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. No further details are available at this time.
