St. Petersburg, FL – On Sunday, November 23, 2025, – at approximately 4 a.m. – A 21-year-old Pinellas Park man driving a Chevrolet Colorado southbound on Interstate 275 fell asleep at the wheel north of the Pinellas Rest Area near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The vehicle departed the roadway, struck a tree, and then collided with a guardrail. During the crash sequence, a 27-year-old Clearwater woman who was a passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
She was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased from her injuries. The driver and two other passengers in the vehicle were not injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. No information regarding charges has been released. Nothing further at this time.
