Brooksville, FL – On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 3:50 a.m., A single-vehicle rollover crash on State Road 589 (Suncoast Parkway) north of State Road 50 resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.
At approximately 3:50 a.m., a Toyota Tacoma traveling northbound was driven by a 42-year-old man from Lecanto. The vehicle departed the roadway onto the east grass shoulder. The driver over-corrected, causing the Tacoma to cross both northbound lanes, enter the center median, and overturn multiple times.
An unrestrained 4-year-old boy from Lecanto was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover sequence. He was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and succumbed to those injuries on November 19, 2025.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Also transported were three additional passengers from the vehicle: a 28-year-old male from Homosassa who suffered minor injuries, a 35-year-old male from Homosassa who sustained serious injuries, and a 5-year-old male from Lecanto. Nothing further at this time.
