Orlando Man Arrested for 2023 Hit-and-Run That Killed 5-Year-Old Girl

On August 25, 2025, members of the Orlando Police Department’s Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Yosefi Arabu (DOB: 10/12/1989) at his home near Clarcona Ocoee Road and Lunsford Drive in connection with a deadly hit-and-run investigation.

On November 11, 2023, officers responded to a crash in the 4300 block of N. Orange Blossom Trail involving a 2016 silver Mercedes C300 and a 2016 white Nissan Pathfinder.

Two occupants were ejected from the Pathfinder, and the occupants of the Mercedes fled the scene. One of the ejected occupants, 5-year-old Aiyanna McCoy, was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

OPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit has diligently worked this case to help bring justice to the family of the victim.

Arabu faces multiple charges for causing the crash, including vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a crash with death, three counts of driving without a valid license resulting in death/serious injury, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, and two counts of reckless driving resulting in damage to person/property.
