Tallahassee, FL – On July 1, 2025, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection announced significant environmental investments in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget, signed by Governor Ron DeSantis.

The budget allocates $1.4 billion for Everglades restoration and targeted water quality improvements. Since 2019, Florida has invested nearly $8 billion in restoring and protecting the state’s waterways, delivering results on time and under budget.

The budget includes over $200 million for coastal and inland resilience, $50 million for alternative water supply development, and more than $50 million for beach nourishment. Additional funding will support projects to strengthen critical infrastructure and ensure reliable water supplies for the state’s growing population and economy.

The DEP stated that the investments reflect a balance between conservation and growth.
