CLERMONT, FL — A Monday morning crash in Lake County left a pedestrian deceased after he was struck by a vehicle while walking in a marked crosswalk, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:10 a.m. at County Road 455 and Great Lawn Way. FHP said a 19-year-old Davenport woman driving a 2019 Acura TLX was traveling southbound on County Road 455 when she struck a 37-year-old Clermont man who was walking east in the marked crosswalk.
Troopers said the driver did not see the pedestrian before the collision. The 37-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Nothing further.
