On June 26, 2025, the Florida Department of Health in Polk County warned of blue-green algae at Lake Crago’s boat ramp. Water is being tested for toxins, which can harm people, pets, and aquatic life.
Avoid swimming, drinking, or contacting water with visible blooms. Keep pets away, and don’t use contaminated water for cooking. Rinse and cook fish fillets thoroughly, but avoid shellfish.
