At approximately 4:53 AM this morning, a collision between a truck and a semi-truck occurred at the intersection of Lucerne Park Rd and Hwy 27 in Haines City, causing fuel to spill onto the roadway.
The Haines City Fire Department responded to a spill of approximately 30-50 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway. Traffic was delayed for several hours. The spill was contained and confined to the roadway, with no reported threat to nearby waterways or vegetation.
The State Warning Point was notified due to the hazardous material spill. The Fire Department remained on scene until the cleanup was completed. The Haines City Police Department provided traffic control assistance. No injuries reported.
