Inverness, FL – On August 20, 2025, at approximately 5:30 PM EDT, an 18-year-old man from Inverness died in a single-vehicle crash on East Gospel Island Road. The driver was operating a Chevy Malibu westbound when he failed to navigate a curve east of the intersection with South Van Buck Drive. The vehicle veered off the roadway, entered the north shoulder, and began to rotate.
The Chevy Malibu then crossed back across the road, entered the south shoulder, and collided with a tree. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. No additional details have been released at this time.
