On August 2, 2025, at 8:58 AM, a fatal crash occurred on State Road 50 (Colonial Drive) east of Saint Nicholas Avenue in Orange County, Florida. A 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 34-year-old female from Orlando, was traveling eastbound and made a U-turn to head westbound.
A 25-year-old male pedestrian from Orlando was walking north on State Road 50, outside a marked crosswalk, and entered the westbound travel lanes directly in the path of the vehicle. The front of the Jeep struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported to Advent Health East Orlando, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained no injuries and remained at the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol, with Corporal Nettles as the crash investigator and Corporal Scott as the homicide investigator, is continuing to investigate the incident.
