Oviedo, FL – At approximately 5:03 A.M. on June 17, 2025, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash at the intersection of State Road 434 and Hammock Lane in Oviedo, Seminole County.
The collision involved a 2022 Nissan Altima and a 2018 Jeep Compass. The Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on State Road 434, approaching Hammock Lane, while the Jeep Compass was traveling westbound on the same road.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the Nissan Altima failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, causing the vehicle to enter the westbound lane and collide head-on with the Jeep Compass. The impact caused the Jeep Compass to become fully engulfed in flames.
The driver of the Nissan Altima, whose identity is pending, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Jeep Compass, also pending identification, was transported to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital with serious injuries.
Both directions of State Road 434 at Hammock Lane are currently closed due to a roadblock. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
