Bartow, FL — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Bartow Police Department, is investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday afternoon at a group home on Bluebird Avenue in Bartow.
Authorities have identified the victim as an 81 year old white male who resided at an independent living facility owned by ET Care.
According to preliminary information, the victim was last seen alive Saturday evening. He was discovered deceased Sunday morning after failing to wake up for breakfast. Sheriff Grady Judd described the death as “violent” but noted that specific details are being withheld due to the early stage of the investigation.
The group home housed three other individuals, and authorities are working to gather more information. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has stated that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. No further details are available at this time.
