LAKE ALFRED, FL — Two Polk County Public Schools transportation employees were arrested Wednesday morning on aggravated child abuse charges following an incident involving a school bus at Karen M. Siegel Academy, according to the school district.
PCPS identified the employees as bus driver Jeffrey Larson and bus attendant William Roberts. The district notified families at Karen M. Siegel Academy, Boswell Elementary and Tenoroc High School because Larson and Roberts also served the other two schools.
“PCPS does not tolerate this kind of behavior from our employees, and these two individuals will no longer have any involvement with our district,” the district told families.
PCPS said it is cooperating fully with law enforcement and asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Additional details about what allegedly occurred on the bus have not yet been released. Eye In The Sky News has reached out to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for comment and additional information.
