ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a potential witness who may have information about an August crash that left a 41-year-old Orlando woman dead in Orange County.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:33 p.m. on August 16, 2026, at the intersection of State Road 520 and Maxim Parkway.
According to FHP, a 24-year-old Indialantic man was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry eastbound on State Road 520 when he approached the intersection in the outside lane. Investigators said the driver was traveling above the posted speed limit and failed to stop at a red light.
At the same time, a 41-year-old Orlando woman driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling northbound on Maxim Parkway and attempted to make a left turn onto westbound State Road 520. The front of the Camry struck the left side of the Lancer.
The Orlando woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 24-year-old driver was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
FHP is now seeking a woman believed to have been among the first people to arrive at the crash scene and who may have assisted those involved. Investigators received information indicating the woman may currently work, or have previously worked, as an emergency medical technician.
Troopers are asking the woman, or anyone who may know her identity, to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at FHP (347) or 407-737-2300 and ask to speak with Corporal Daniel Jonas. The fatal crash remains under investigation.
