Saddle Creek Campground to Close for Two Months for Renovation Project

LAKELAND, FL — The campground at Saddle Creek Park will temporarily close from July 1 through Aug. 30 as Polk County completes renovation and improvement projects at the facility.

The campground, located at 3716 Morgan Combee Road in Lakeland, will be unavailable to campers during the two-month construction period. County officials said the closure is limited to the campground area only.

Despite the temporary closure, Saddle Creek Park and the park’s gun range will remain open and continue operating under normal business hours throughout the renovation project.

Polk County officials noted that all other campgrounds managed by the Polk County Parks and Natural Resources Division will remain open and available for reservations during the closure.

Campers seeking alternative accommodations can reserve campsites at other county-operated campgrounds through Polk County’s parks and recreation reservation system.

For additional information about county campgrounds, residents may contact the Polk County Parks and Natural Resources Division at (863) 534-7377.

The campground is expected to reopen to visitors on Aug. 31 following completion of the planned improvements.
