Tampa Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

Tampa, FL — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Monday, May 25, 2026, near the intersection of W. Waters Avenue and N. Albany Avenue as a traffic fatality investigation.

At approximately 10:05 p.m., a 19-year-old female bicyclist was traveling westbound on W. Waters Avenue along the far-right side of the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound in the far-right lane.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene without stopping to render aid.

The bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, she died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators recovered vehicle parts from the scene and identified them as belonging to a 2013–2016 Toyota RAV4.

Detectives are requesting assistance from the public. Anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash or who may have information related to the incident is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130 and reference report number 26-309099.

Business owners and residents in the area are also encouraged to review surveillance footage recorded around the time of the crash for any potentially relevant video evidence.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
