PLANT CITY, FL– A head-on crash on State Road 39 Saturday afternoon killed two drivers and left another man injuried. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 12:25 p.m. on June 27, 2026, on State Road 39, south of East County Line Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Subaru SUV was traveling southbound on SR-39, north of Plant City, when it attempted to pass another vehicle. The Subaru entered the northbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Chrysler minivan.
Following the initial impact, the vehicles rotated and struck a Ford F-250 that was towing a horse trailer and traveling behind the Subaru. All three vehicles then left the roadway before coming to rest.
The driver of the Subaru, an unidentified adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler minivan, also an unidentified adult male, was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the Ford F-250, a 64-year-old Webster man, suffered minor injuries and was not transported. The crash remains under investigation. Nothing further at this time.
